Intro

I am a Software Developer by trade, and I know that times are tough and buisnesses need people that are task oriented. Ever since the times of the pandemic, many people have lost focus on what the world needs; which is creative minds that are driven to produce products and solutions to keep ahead of how the world changes. Technology is ever evolving and you need someone to keep your company with the current trends, which is what I aim to do. I have decided that after years of hobby computing that it is time for me to put my skills into a company, so let me help you and your company grow!

I truly enjoy many aspects of programming, and always strive to learn something new every day. I have worked in the automotive, retail, and construction fields in the begginnings of my adult life; so I am no stranger to the basics of deadlines, customer service, product recommendations, supply and demand, and preventative maintenance shedules. I have been in a supervisory role for many of my years, so I understand that an indivual's contribution is much more effective when working with others in a team environment. The other members of a team have many roles beyond their own contributions; which are to assist with ideas, give feedback , provide constructive critisim, and even give moral support when times get tough.

I hope that I can find not only a company that has enduring values, yet constantly evolving traits and challenges to overcome along the way. Together with other members of the team that I am placed with, we can become much more than just a group of people, but an amazing team that will succeed and push the boundaries of everything well beyond the level of expectation set by our customers as well as company leadership.

Foundational C# with Microsoft Developer Certification

I have completed several projects based around C#, my preferred coding language of choice. My most recent project is an Asp.Net MVC Web App built using Visual Studio Community. This app uses all C.R.U.D. functions to store the data in a Sql database. In order to showcase multiple NuGet packages, it uses both Entity, and Dapper for queries and executions to the database. I used the Microsoft Identity platform for user authorization, and the Front-End uses not only Html and CSS, but uses many bootstrap functions for scaleability between platforms and devices. I hosted on Microsoft Azure to learn about cloud hosting and the functions available.

Before that I completed a console app that called and utilized APIs and JSON files for two primary purposes. The first was to simulate a humorous conversation between Kanye West and the fictional character Ron Swanson from the NBC Show "Parks and Recreation". It generates dialogue by making a series of calls using specific APIs for each character and assembles them in an amusing conversation fashon. The second part used the openweathermap.org API to retrieve the current temperature for the zip-code submitted by the user via input. Both of these utilize RESTful APIs for their operation.

In addition, I also have made a program called the Taco Parser project that uses the global coordinates of Taco Bell locations within a CSV file and calculates the two locations located farthest away from eachother. This was created using object oriented programming and test driven development to achieve the expected result.

My name is Bryson Varner, and I am located in Wichita, Kansas; but grew up at the base of the Rocky Mountains in Longmont, Colorado. I have spent half of my life as a Maintenance and HVAC Technician, but always enjoyed computers since childhood. A few years ago, I found that I had a good grasp of code when I used my creative abilities to create a mission for a video game and figured that it was time to move away from physical labor, and put my brain to the task of programming and software development. I enrolled in classes, and began my journey which you can see here..

Working a physical job during the day, and then switching gears to program every evening was a challenge; but with the love and support from my Wife and my son, I was not only able to learn and grow, but to excel, and realize that my passion for making this hobby into a career was well within my reach. It is time for me now to complete my training, and begin performing the tasks that are needed by a company to increase their efficency and quality by building quality software and maintaining their various systems.
